Jack and Timothy are actually twins but Timothy couldn’t get past the abuse they suffered from their grandmother and so in order to protect him and keep him close after Timothy had a complete melt down, Jack had Timothy hypnotized and given a whole new back story of the facial surgery/student loan debt, and to be more like Jack so he would actually survive.
